NZPPA Payroll Practitioner of the Year 2009 – Jennifer Voss, Alsco NZ
Jennifer is a long serving employee at Alsco NZ with over 19 years service and has been part of the Payroll Team since it was established 3 ½ years ago. Her eye to detail, understanding of the numerous employment agreements (14 collective agreements) and ability to build positive interpersonal relationships with branch personnel she deals with make her a valuable member of the Payroll team.
Alsco NZ provides fully manages uniform services, linen services and washroom services to a large and diverse customer base from 27 processing plants. Alsco has 830 staff and payroll runs weekly and monthly pay cycles.
We congratulate Jennifer on being this year’s winner and are proud to have a payroll professional of her calibre in the profession.

NZPPA Payroll Team of the Year 2009 – APN News and Media
The APN News & Media Payroll Team currently carry out payroll functions for over 100 New Zealand and Australian businesses.
The Payroll Team pay approximately 7,800 employees over 120 trans-tasman payrolls, which have weekly, fortnightly and monthly frequencies. As such, the Payroll Team are working in a high-paced, pressured environment which is both challenging and exciting.
The APN Payroll Team consists of 18 team members whose structure is made up of Payroll Administrators, Payroll Support Staff, Team Leaders and Management. They are a diverse and dynamic team with a broad range of backgrounds and skills which make them a very comprehensive and knowledgeable group of Payroll professionals.
We congratulate the APN team for their professional approach to running a complex payroll activity. Well done for a high performing team of true payroll professionals.
