Payroll can be an isolating position within an organisation as it does not fit neatly under Finance or HR. Also without payroll knowledge the work of payroll professionals is not widely understood by a lot of positions that payroll report into. For these reasons NZPPA regional user groups are being set up to provide a local support network for payroll professionals.
The main purpose of regional user groups is to:
- Networking with your payroll colleagues
- Share your knowledge and experience
- Giving and getting support at a local level
- Feeding local payroll needs and issues back through to NZPPA
- Comment on local views in regard to any upcoming legislative changes.
NZPPA will help and support these groups by:
- Help coordinate and arrange venues
- Provide speakers at the local and national level
- Help advertise and grow regional groups
- Provide any administrative support required
*How often meetings occur would be set by the region.

The first groups are to be located in:
- Auckland
- Wellington, and
- Christchurch

Call for Regional Co-ordinators
We are looking for Regional Co-ordinators to run their regions user group. This is a voluntary position and would suit someone passionate about payroll and who wants to help grow payroll as a profession.
If you are interested it would go towards the NZPPA accreditation (Associate).
