Please can you confirm if there is a legislated standard working week in NZ? Ie if the working week is 40 hours, is the standard day 8 hours?

Answer:

Under the Minimum Wage Act 1983 section 11B it states that an employment agreement should not be set at more than 40 hours for a working week but then states if the parties agree it can be set at a number greater than 40.  So the main document to identify what the weekly and daily hours are is the employment agreement.
